The reporter learned from China National Offshore Oil Corporation on May 19 that the largest offshore Lufeng 14-4 center platform independently designed and built by China has successfully completed float-over installation in the eastern waters of the South China Sea, marking that China's large-scale offshore oil and gas equipment construction and installation capabilities have been further improved.

According to the person in charge from CNOOC, the Lufeng 14-4 central platform is constructed in an integrated mode, and the functional modules are assembled on land "building blocks". After two days of installation on the sea, the living conditions can be met. The platform is expected to be put into production at the end of 2021, and will provide more oil and gas resources for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

The central platform of Lufeng 14-4 is composed of two parts, the upper module and the jacket. It stands on the sea at a depth of 145 meters, with a total height of 218 meters, equivalent to a 70-story building, and a total weight of nearly 30,000 tons.
